If you're like me, and have been lamenting the disappearance of good Chinese food since the late 1980s, treat yourself to dinner at Moo's. This is the closest I've found to the kind of Chinese food I grew up with in LA and Chicago. And there's no better word for the service than "delightful." Everyone there is warm and welcoming.

I see another reviewer wasn't happy with the lack of spice in his meal, but to me, Chinese food should not be spicy at all, so I was happy with it. If I want spicy, I go out for Mexican or Thai.

Please give this restaurant a try. I'd like to be able to come back to it when I'm visiting the LA area again.

I live so close by and a local torrance person recommended this place, so came here to try it out.  I was so disappointed with the black bean noodles (jjajangmyun)  and the seafood soup (jjampong).  The noodles were super soggy- like they've been cooked before then reheated. The sauce was super bland and the soup had no flavor. The seafood inside the soup tasted like it was old.  The only thing that was good was the fried mandoo- or dumplings.
The pork tangsuyook was decent but the batter looked dark, as if they used old oil to fry it up.

This place has so much potential- location and having been in Toreance for over 30 years as a southbay staple....if only they can hire some new cooks!!!

Some of our appetizers were okay, but the main course was bland. We ordered Kung Pow Chicken and Chicken with Almonds.  We could not tell which was which, both dishes had the same bland flavor. The Kung Pow was not the least bit spicy.

The service was good and perhaps we would have had a better meal if we had selected different menu items. We ate at Moo's years ago and the food was excellent.  This was not our recent experience. We'll probably give them one more try before putting them on our No Fly list.

It hurts my heart to give this place only 3-stars, considering how much comfort food it provided me in the days of my youth, but it's a rating I'll give if I was being objective.

Moo's is a typical Chinese restaurant and serves all the typical dishes that a Chinese restaurant should serve.

Quality isn't bad, but it's nothing superb. It does the job. I'm actually surprised this area of Torrance doesn't have that many Chinese restaurants in its vicinity considering the dense Asian population. And I guess that's why I appreciate Moo's. It stays true to its guns and serves out traditional Chinese dishes.

I get the black bean paste noodles, and some of the meat like Beijing Beef. They are pretty good, and does the job fairly well.

Price is standard, and parking is kinda limited, though the restaurant is pretty spacious for large parties.

Haven't been here in ages, but would love to come as a customer again not only for the nostalgia but also for the serviceable food.

    Miss ya Moo's!.

    Love,
    Kev
